Car Drifting

Car drifting

Car drifting is one of the most popular car sports nowadays. It is originally appeared in Japan in 1970s. Car drifting has become widespread in all countries of the world and it is practiced by drivers in races. Drivers do it to get out of a certain corner or exit and these maneuvers. There are popular drifting competitions and these competitions are based on line, speed, shadow factor and angle. Although it is considered one of the most risky practices, its popularity is increasing and a lot of the young in our country, including me, practice it in the spacious areas a kind of competition to display our skills of drifting using our cars. Cars that are used in car drifting must have certain specifications that make it bear all the pressure put on the tires and the strong force by which the car set out.

In a car crazy country like the UAE, it’s no amazing that the sport of drifting has gained popularity. Although Japan is often known as its birthplace, where drivers would try to twisty mountain roads in rear-wheel drive AE86 Corollas and travel along them as sideways as possible, others might claim that the practice began with European rally drivers. Car drifting is not only gaining a lot of popularity in the UAE, but it also gains a lot of popularity all over the Gulf countries and in some Arab countries. The Gulf countries have a good market for the different makes of cars that are available in the UAE. There are also a lot of championships that are held in the country that include a lot of car drifting. Every year, Yas hosts Ferrari championships where a lot of professional come to compete in proving that they have the skill and to win the championship and the title.

Its official practice

Car drifting is used in motor races that are held officially in the UAE where experienced motorists use their skill to achieve the first place in the racing competition and to be able to overlap and overtake the other drivers who block the way in front of them. I saw a lot of car races where motorist car drifted and I was amazed by their skill and ability to control the car. Many dramatic accidents occurred when a motorist overturned with his cars many times; hitting the metal fence that surrounds the rally track. However, the motorist was really fortunate and lucky to escape death as he got out of his car without being injured so badly.

There are institutions in the UAE that teaches people how to acquire the skills of car drifting. There is an institute in Yas that provides sessions on general introduction to the world of drifting. There are also courses that make the motorists apply their skills in certain areas. Yas also hosts a lot of competitions in which professional motorists from around the world show off their skill of car drifting.

The UAE has been trying to make it practiced officially by implementing certain programs and directing people in order to practice it within the limits of the laws and not to violate the safety and the rights of other people who drive safely on the roads.

Car drifting in the UAE

Car drifting is practiced officially in the UAE in the official competitions and car races. However, it is completely forbidden according to the law to drift using a car in streets or in spacious areas because they cause a lot of accidents. There are a lot of videos on the YouTube that show dramatic accidents when the cars overturned and not only the motorists were injured but also the audience who were watching them. Some families lost their sons and their loved ones because of practicing car drifting to show off in front of others.

In other countries like Saudi Arabia car drifting is also very popular. I watched a video online where a lot of the young men are watching some of the guys drifting their cars. The scene was so shocking when one of the guys lost control of his own car and the car turned over so many times in the direction of the people who were watching. The car began to overturn so many times so fast that the people who were watching began to run so quickly away from it. Unfortunately, they could not go that fast to escape the car. The car hit some of them so strongly that some of them were badly hurt and unfortunately one was dead. The police came quickly and arrested the guys who were drifting their cars and took them to the police station to investigate the accident. The accident was also published in the local newspaper and the government warned of such practices. The government also warned the guys who drift their cars on the highways and the roads that they will be punished by fines or imprisonment because they constitute risk for the lives of other people who can be harmed without any sin.

There are also some rules to be followed during car drift. Regarding age, people who want to practice car drifting must not be less than 18 years old and physically well. In addition, they should have the skill and be well trained to control the car and follow the drifting rules. Another important thing that must be taken into consideration is that a person must have the special equipment that provides him with protection in case there is an accident or shock. Another important thing is that the motorist has to be very attentive and careful with the faults of others or the other cars that can appear suddenly in front of him during driving.

My experience with car drifting

I used to accompany my friends who are interested in car drifting and who usually gather to display their skills of controlling the cars and carrying out skillful movements. Last year, they decided to go to a big area and compete in order to show who can do the most wonderful movements and the best maneuvers with the car. There were more than ten guys with their four wheel and strong cars. They were so enthusiastic and looking forward to display their own skills.

They began to display their own skills and they competed so hard. They were so enthusiastic and interested in their actions that we kept watching and competing for hours. However, the end was dramatic when Khalid overlapped with his car. The car turned over so many times and we ran towards him so fast. We tried to adjust the car and make it return back but it was too heavy to push it. We immediately called the police and they came at once along with an ambulance. They could quickly get Khalid out of the car and the ambulance took him immediately to the hospital. We accompanied him to the hospital and we made sure that he was ok. The most surprising thing was that he asked us about our opinion of his skill in car drifting and answered him laughing that he was great. He said that de did not intend to give up car drifting and that he would join us again the next time.

In conclusion, car drifting is a really interesting sport that attracts a lot of people, especially the youth. However, it must be done professionally and under the supervision of official institutions that can organize it and make sure that everything will be done safely according to the rules. However, it is very risky to use cars to show off in front of the audience in order to display skills of driving. This is very dangerous for the motorists and the audience because they usually result in dramatic accidents that injure people or, even worse, cause their death. I have learned that if I want to practice car drifting, I have to be well trained, follow the rules and be attentive. I have plans to join one of the institutes that provide people with training in order to master the skill of car drifting and practice it safely. One day, I may be able to win a championship or a title in car drifting if I learned to practice the sport officially. I am currently waiting for the event that is happening on 12th December 2014 in Dubai Motor City to learn more about drifting.

Harvey Smith was a champion in show jumping as his main sport. He was controversial because he gave a “V sign” to the judges then disciplined after winning the British Show Jumping Derby for the second year in succession. He didn’t succeed as a singer as a career. Later on, he became a television commentator for the B.B.C. (British Broadcasting Corporation).
